Online workshop: Engaging Multicultural Communities within Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion

Join Injury Matters as Deborah Pyatt, a training consultant with 30 years of experience working with diverse communities, will be facilitating this interactive and engaging workshop. This training aims to build the capacity of health and community professionals to increase understanding of the impact of key cultural aspects in CaLD communities in WA to better engage, plan, and implement programs and services which target injury prevention and safety promotion.

This online workshop training aims to:
Increase awareness of the leading causes of injury within the CaLD community in WA.
Increase knowledge of the barriers CaLD communities face in accessing appropriate services.
Increase knowledge of the underlying cultural, social and psychosocial factors that influence injury within CaLD communities.
Increase skills in applying culturally inclusive practices for accessible and appropriate health programs and service delivery for the WA CaLD community.

This training is suitable for health professionals working in local government, not-for-profits/community sector, mental health, public health, and aged care that want to engage with diverse communities in their health programs.
