RHDAustralia staff will discuss the critical elements for preventing acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease, with a focus on care that is clinically sound and culturally safe. A young person living with rheumatic heart disease will share his experience.

Evidence based guidelines will be used as the foundation to appropriately diagnose and identify treatment pathways including recommended referrals, trauma focused psychological therapy and psychological first aid to help support their management of emergency service workers. With a focus on self-harm and suicide in adolescence, this program will assist clinicians to manage youth in distress, self-harm and suicidality.
