DESCRIPTION:ECHO programs offer free interactive online training bringing health professionals and primary care together to share knowledge\, ideas\, and experiences\, fostering a friendly supportive environment. These monthly sessions run for an hour from 11.00am to 12.00pm WA and are open to all health care staff including Nursing\, Allied health\, GP’s\, Community health and Indigenous health workers. \nPalliative Care ECHO is a series of interactive virtual mentoring sessions that addresses a range of palliative care topics. It aims to increase palliative care knowledge\, skills and confidence in health professionals. \nEach 1 hour session consists of: \n\nA 10-minute presentation from a multidisciplinary specialist palliative care team\nA case presentation by a primary care professional\nOpportunities for Q&A and discussion\n\nPalliative Care ECHO Benefits \n\nA virtual network to share palliative care knowledge and experiences\nConnect with multidisciplinary specialist teams\nImprove palliative care knowledge and skills\nIncrease confidence to support someone with a life-limiting illness and their family\nIncrease job satisfaction and promote peer support between health services

Linda’s presentation offers additional practice points regarding other fundamental nutritional considerations that need to be recognised\, to provide true holistic care in GDM. Ensuring that healthcare settings and HCP’s are equipped to support general nutritional adequacy and healthy weight gain education\, is paramount in assisting in reducing both short and long-term complications\, as well as maximising patients’ wellbeing on during the pregnancy. \nThis presentation also intends to evoke further consideration of how we deliver these education messages to GDM mothers\, prioritising balanced messaging around the nuances in current guidelines and client-centred language that can target this education to the specific client’s physical\, social\, cultural\, and emotional needs.

DESCRIPTION:The Rural Health West CPD REACT+ workshop is designed to assist Western Australian Visiting Medical Practitioners to maintain their emergency knowledge and skills\, and gain formal assessment towards their emergency credentialing\, as required by WA Country Health Service. Covering medical emergencies\, major trauma and cardiac arrest in adults and children\, and associated lifesaving procedural skills training\, REACT+ is a highly interactive workshop. Participants are provided with audio-visual pre-learning materials and the course consists almost entirely of small group practical skills stations and simulated scenarios. \nEligibility: All medical practitioners are welcome to register\, with priority given to currently practising rural and remote medical practitioners. \nLength: Two days – 8.00am-5.00pm. \nCost: $2\,500 (incl GST)\nThe cost of this workshop is subsidised by WA Country Health Service through the Better Medical Care Initiative. \nAccreditation: \n12.75 Educational Activity\, 11.83 Performance Review\, 1 Additional CPD Requirements hours. 6 Anaesthetics (Practice Evaluation) and 6 Emergency Medicine MOPS hours with Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine for continuing professional development hours.\n16 Educational Activity and 9 Reviewing Performance hours with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners for the 2023-2025 triennium.\n22.5 ACEM CPD hours \nThis workshop is eligible for the Rural Procedural Grants Program\, Anaesthetics and Emergency Medicine components. Please contact your college for eligibility prior to attending the course. \nThis education workshop is proudly delivered by Rural Health West in partnership with WA Country Health Service through the Better Medical Care Initiative. \nPayment structure \nYou will receive an email link for payment in an event confirmation email.
