SUMMARY:Rural Emergency Advanced Clinical Training (REACT+) | Perth
DESCRIPTION:The Rural Health West CPD REACT+ workshop is designed to assist Western Australian Visiting Medical Practitioners to maintain their emergency knowledge and skills\, and gain formal assessment towards their emergency credentialing\, as required by WA Country Health Service. Covering medical emergencies\, major trauma and cardiac arrest in adults and children\, and associated lifesaving procedural skills training\, REACT+ is a highly interactive workshop. Participants are provided with audio-visual pre-learning materials and the course consists almost entirely of small group practical skills stations and simulated scenarios. \nEligibility: All medical practitioners are welcome to register\, with priority given to currently practising rural and remote medical practitioners. \nLength: Two days – 8.00am-5.00pm. \nCost: $2\,500 (incl GST)\nThe cost of this workshop is subsidised by WA Country Health Service  \nAccreditation: \n12.75 Educational Activity\, 11.83 Performance Review\, 1 Additional CPD Requirements hours. 6 Anaesthetics (Practice Evaluation) and 6 Emergency Medicine MOPS hours with Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine for continuing professional development hours.\n16 Educational Activity and 9 Reviewing Performance hours with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners for the 2023-2025 triennium.\n22.5 ACEM CPD hours \nThis workshop is eligible for the Rural Procedural Grants Program\, Anaesthetics and Emergency Medicine components. Please contact your college for eligibility prior to attending the course. \nThis education workshop is proudly delivered by Rural Health West in partnership with WA Country Health Service  \nPayment structure \nYou will receive an email link for payment in an event confirmation email. SUMMARY:WESTERN TRAUMA COURSE – MERREDIN – SATURDAY 11th MAY 2024
DESCRIPTION:trauma patients. It is specifically aimed at meeting the needs of rural and remote health care professionals\, considering issues such as sparse population\, limited staffing and medical facilities\, and long transport times. \n  \nThe course provides participants with the opportunity to practise hands on skills and run through full trauma case scenarios. A pre-course eLearning module follows a patient’s journey from crash scene through to retrieval for tertiary care\, and covers topics such as scene safety\, the initial assessment process\, communication\, secondary survey and the need for transfer. Participants will also be provided with a WTC manual. \n  \nThe WTC sees a strong focus on the team approach to trauma care\, utilising an A-I systematic approach to management which can be applied to all patients.  It is designed to be interactive and stimulating and will give participants the tools required to increase their confidence to manage trauma patients and review their current clinical practice. \nTo conduct this course\, we engage a minimum of three clinical experts to deliver the course content and share their experiences in trauma management including staff from the major trauma service\, paediatric specialists and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. \nFor more information and an application form please visit http://ww2.health.wa.gov.au/Articles/U_Z/Western-Trauma-Course-WTC \nThe course qualifies for the Emergency Procedures Grant.
